In case you have not yet realized, I am a book nerd. I love reading books about ministry, leadership, history, and theology. While I ready most of these for fun, I also look to learn from them, honing my skills in the ministry. Inspired by Marko’s post on Books that have Shaped My (Marko’s) Thinking on Youth Ministry, here are some books that have shaped my view on youth ministry:

  • Purpose Driven Youth Ministry by Doug Fields. A fantastic book on developing fundamental philosophies for a youth ministry.
  • Youth Ministry 3.0 by Marko. A great book on how to view today’s youth ministry.
  • Creative Bible Teaching by Gary Bredfeldt. A textbook I used in college. Formerly the most helpful book on communication in youth ministry.
  • Speaking to Teenagers by Doug Fields and Duffy Robbins. The new top book for communication in youth ministry.

What other books have been influential to you?
