Juggling Student Graduations

graduationIt is that time of the year when all your high school seniors are graduating. If you have seniors in your ministry, they will want you there. For youth workers in smaller or more remote towns, that means sitting through one school’s service; for youth workers in larger communities, that means juggling several graduations. Brian Seidel over at PDYM Community wrote an excellent post dealing with the  Busy Graduation Season.

My only suggestion for going to graduation is think about where to sit. You might want to sit with a group of younger students, thus giving your graduating seniors support from the whole ministry. Or you might want to sit with several of your seniors’ parents. Or you can even sit with some members of the community, helping build relationships with them. Whatever you do, make sure to remember first and foremost that you are there to support and honor your graduating seniors.
