Best of 2008: Books

At the start of 2008, I set a goal to read 25 books (not including required books for seminary). I fell just short of that goal, reading 23 books in my spare time (plus 3 for seminary classes). Most of them were great reads, with only a few exceptions. Here are the Top 5 Books I read this year:
- What Matters Most by Doug Fields.
- Speaking to Teenagers by Doug Fields and Duffy Robbins.
- Jim and Casper Go to Church by Jim Henderson and Matt Casper.
- Why We’re Not Emergent by Kevin DeYoung and Ted Kluck.
- The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell.
As you can see, my list is skewed toward ministry-related books. One of my 2009 goals is to read from broader group of books. I plan to read 30 books, including at least 10 books on history.
